DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning following the last
two days of light to moderate business. Asking prices for cattle left on
showlists are around $112 in the South, and $175 in the North. Wednesday and
Thursday's trade came in at mostly $110 live in the South, steady/weak with
the prior week's weighted averages. Northern dressed deals were at mostly
$172 to $173, generally steady to $1 lower than last week's weighted average
basis Nebraska. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with light to
moderate box movement.
